Course Description

This certificate program is a continuation of the EAL Assistant Training Program. The focus is on ways to support English as an Additional Language (EAL) students and EAL Assistants. You will receive the EAL Assistant 2 Certificate of Recognition upon completion of this program. Read Course Reviews.

This 27-hour certificate is designed to increase your professional skills as an EAL Assistant.

Required Prerequisites

EAL Assistant 1 Certificate of Recognition

Calgary Board of Education Employee Funding

Funding may be available to CBE employees through the Staff Association Staff Development Fund or the ATA Staff Development Fund. Further information regarding how to apply for professional development funding can be accessed on the CBE Staff Association (external website) or the Alberta Teacher Association (external website).

Notice

Please read:  Half hour lunch on Saturdays. There is no cafeteria service on Saturdays, however there is a microwave. The facility will be open 30 minutes in advance and classroom access is available 15 minutes in advance of the start time. Please note that during evenings and on Saturdays, exterior doors are locked 30 minutes after classes begin. If you are taking a break outside, please ensure you have someone to let you back in.
