Gifted students have special needs for instruction and benefit from increased rigor in the expectations of their assessments. This assessment models course will teach you about the three types of assessments (pre, formative, and summative) and discuss the importance of differentiating rigor, especially when assessing your gifted students.

You will learn ideas for creating tests and administering varied assessments to your students with a plan for implementation in your classroom. The course comes with 17 templates and samples to guide you in the design of your assessments and support the growth and progress of your gifted students in your classroom.

  • This course can be taken on either a PC, Mac, or Chromebook.

Software Requirements:

  • PC: Windows 10 or later.
  • Mac: macOS 12 or later.
  • Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible.
  • Microsoft Word Online
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.

Other:

  • Email capabilities and access to a personal email account.
  • Editing of a Microsoft Word document is required in this course. You may use a free version of Microsoft Word Online, or Google Docs if you do not have Microsoft Office installed on your computer. Model Teaching can provide support for this.
